Emily Metzguer Bio

BIO

Emily earned her undergraduate degree from Appalachian State
University, majoring in health promotion with a minor in technical photography.
After graduating she moved around, pursuing her passion of photography by
documenting the places she traveled to and working as a freelance photographer
while piecing together odd jobs.

Her adventures eventually led her to Savannah, Georgia, where she
earned her M.F.A. in photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design.
After completing her thesis in Fall 2009, an impeccable work ethic, superb
timing, and sheer luck landed her a position teaching as an adjunct professor of
photography at SCAD.

She currently resides in New York City and continues working on solo photography and video projects
in addition to teaching.
